Victoria Park reverse increases Hereford's drop concerns

Relegation-threatened Hereford were left staring League Two football in the face following a 4-2 defeat to Hartlepool at Victoria Park. The game got off to a spectacular start with three goals inside the first quarter of an hour, with Hartlepool's top scorer Joel Porter breaking the deadlock with an angled shot after nine minutes. But Hereford were level just two minutes later when Febian Brandy beat the offside trap and slotted in low from 12 yards. Porter quickly restored Hartlepool's lead, scoring his 21st goal of the season from the penalty spot after Keigan Parker was nudged in the back by Richard Rose inside the area. But Hereford battled their way back into the game for a second time as Marc Pugh bundled the ball in at the far post after Jennison Myrie-Williams' low cross. Hartlepool then took control with two goals in a minute late in the game, Sam Collins heading in Andy Monkhouse's corner after 78 minutes before Antony Sweeney nodded home Porter's cross soon after.
