Luton v Rotherham preview

Rock-bottom Luton will look to keep their survival dreams alive when they play host to Rotherham.

Hatters look for welcome boost in survival bid

Rock-bottom Luton will look to keep their survival dreams alive when they play host to Rotherham. The Hatters remain 11 points adrift of safety with seven games remaining, but have won four of their last five to give themselves a chance. The Millers, who like their midweek opponents began the season with a points penalty, have clambered into the safety of mid-table and have lost just once in 11 outings.

Luton team news

Luton manager Mick Harford is likely to name an unchanged starting XI on Tuesday. The Hatters kept alive their feint hopes of retaining Football League status by beating Morecambe 2-1 on Saturday, and Harford is unlikely to tinker with that winning formula. Harford, who endured an unsuccessful eight-month stint with the Millers in 2005, will once again have defender Michael Spillane unavailable through international duty with Republic of Ireland U21s, having recovered from a recent dead leg. David Livermore enjoyed an impressive debut in midfield at Morecambe and will continue alongside captain Kevin Nicholls and Asa Hall. Otherwise, Harford has no other new injury or suspension concerns but the Hatters boss is anticipating a tenacious affair. "On the road they have done well and Mark Robins (Rotherham manager) has got a great bunch of players so it's going to be a difficult game," he said.
Rotherham team news
Rotherham defender Jamie Green is expected to shake off injury in time to make the trip to Kenilworth Road. Green (leg) was forced out of action midway through the first half in Saturday's goalless home draw with Accrington and replaced by Marc Joseph. Should Green fail to make it Joseph will continue in his absence. Manager Mark Robins has no other new injury or suspension worries, but hinted at several changes in a bid to "freshen things up". Midfielders Jason Taylor and Danny Harrison, who was not included in the weekend squad, could come into contention while striker Jamie Clarke is also hoping to feature.
