Full-back agrees two-year extension
Switzerland international defender Ludovic Magnin has committed himself to Bundesliga champions Stuttgart for a further two years.
The 28-year-old agreed the deal on Monday which keeps him at the Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion until 2010.
"We are delighted that Ludo will be staying with us," VfB sport director Horst Heldt told the club's
official website.
"He is a member of the team's council and enjoys a lot of respect within the squad. That is not the sort of player you want to be leaving."
It is believed that the left-back, who joined Stuttgart from Werder Bremen in 2005, has been handed a significant pay rise worth up to €2million per year.
Very happy
"I feel very happy at VfB and I'm sure that the team can achieve a lot in the coming years," said Magnin.
"I had other offers which I looked at closely, but in the end everything worked out in favour of Stuttgart."
Magnin had been linked with a move to Birmingham City during the transfer window before Alex McLeish brought in David Murphy from Hibernian.
