Fiorentina are the latest club to express an interest in signing Portuguese starlet Miguel Veloso.
The Sporting Lisbon midfielder is one of the most sought-after youngsters in Europe.
Manchester United and Arsenal have been tracking him closely in recent months and are expected to be amongst the bidders when he becomes available.
Sporting have always stated he would not be allowed to leave until the summer at the earliest, but he is expected to depart at the end of the season.

Now his agent Paulo Barbosa has confirmed that the Viola have made contact.
"I confirm that Fiorentina are interested, but no negotiations are taking place. They contacted me asking about information on the player," said Barbosa.
"At the moment there is nothing concrete. If negotiations begin it will be with a view to a summer transfer."
