Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen have signed Greece international midfielder Alexandros Tziolis.
The 23-year-old Panathinaikos star will put pen to paper on a six-month loan deal after a medical on Thursday.
Bremen have secured an option to make the deal permanent should he impress at the Weserstadion this spring.
The former Greece U21 captain, a defensive midfielder by trade, helped Panathinaikos knock Bremen out of the UEFA Champions League earlier this season.
Werder coach Thomas Schaaf will hope that he will help shore up one of the Bundesliga's leakiest defences as Bremen attempt to bounce back from a disappointing domestic season so far.
