Defender poised to leave FC Twente, subject to medical
Robbie Wielaert has agreed a transfer from FC Twente to Eredivisie rivals Ajax, subject to passing a medical.
The 30-year-old defender is poised to sign a contract with the Dutch giants that will keep him at Amsterdam ArenA until 2011, with the option of an additional season.
A reported fee of €3million (£2.7million) has been agreed between the two clubs, with FC Twente now in the market for a new centre-half.
FC Twente president Joop Munsterman said on the club's
official website: "We regret his departure. We made every effort to keep him."
Meanwhile, Brazilian stopper Bruno Gabriel Soares is to undergo a trial at De Grolsch Veste.
