Schalke ace wants first-team role

Schalke ace Gerald Asamoah admits he will be considering his future at the club if he is not involved in the first-team. The Germany international appears to be on the fringes of the first-team under Felix Magath. The 30-year-old now admits that he will be looking to move on if he does not get his wish of regular playing time. "I'm doing my best to return to full match fitness and convince the coach of my qualities," he told Bild. "I feel like I still have a future at Schalke but I could leave the club in the winter if I don't get regular first-team football." Meanwhile, Magath has banished Albert Streit to the reserve team as he is unhappy with the midfielder's attitude in training. "I require of players in my team that they work consistently hard and regularly push themselves to the limits: that is not the impression I had with Albert," said Magath. Magath has also sanctioned the loan of Carlos Grossmuller back to his native Uruguay, and he has joined Danubio for the rest of the season.
