Cristian Zaccardo has admitted it is flattering to be linked with Juventus but is happy at Parma.

Defender shrugs off Juve speculation

Cristian Zaccardo has admitted it is flattering to be linked with Juventus but is not seeking a move away from Parma. The defender has been in fine form for Parma this season but his performances have not gone unnoticed and Juve are understood to be interested. Zaccardo is not paying too much attention to the transfer talk as he is settled at Stadio Ennio Tardini. "It's always nice to hear these things, but most times it's just fantasy," he told Tuttomercatoweb.com. "It's good to hear your name close to teams of a certain calibre, but I am happy at Parma."

Italy

Zaccardo has fallen out of the international reckoning since being part of the Italy squad that won the 2006 World Cup. However, his impressive displays have sparked discussion about a possible recall and he is hopeful about going to South Africa this summer. "I had the luck to be part of the group that went to Germany and we won," he said. "The coach [Marcello Lippi] knows me. If he calls me then I would be really happy. "I am hoping. If not, then I hope to get back into the Giro Azzurro next year."
