Manchester City are weighing up a bid for Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Douglas Costa, according to his agent.
The 20-year-old Brazilian has long been linked with Manchester United and was a guest of the club to watch the 1-0 win over Bolton in March.
But rivals City are now interested in the player, says agent Cesar Bottega, who added Serie A outfit Napoli are also monitoring his situation.
He told
notiziariosportivo.com: "I have spoken a few times with Manchester City.

"They have shown interest in the player and are now considering whether to enter into a negotiation or not.
"I am planning a trip to Europe in a fortnight, but if something were to change I'm ready to leave earlier."
As regards interest from Serie A, he added: "Napoli have followed the player's performance in the Champions League, then I don't know if there were concrete contacts, I have not been contacted.
"Logically, they will first, in any case, contact the company."
Bottega added he knows nothing of any interest from Roma in the player, who joined Shakhtar from Gremio in January 2010 on a five-year contract.
