Dutch strugglers make double capture
VVV Venlo have moved to ease their relegation fears with the double signing of Jeffrey Leiwakabessy and Ismo Vorstermans on loan.
Left-back Leiwakabessy joins the Eredivisie strugglers on a free transfer from Cypriot side Anorthosis Famagusta.
The 30-year-old, who spent eight seasons in the Dutch top-flight at NEC Breda before leaving in 2006, has signed at Venlo until the end of the campaign.
Chance
He told VVV's
official website: "I am very happy with the chance VVV Venlo have offered me.
"I hope I can play a part in the ultimate goal of keeping the club in the Eredivisie."
Meanwhile, Vorstermans will spend the rest of the season on loan at VVV from FC Utrecht.
The 22-year-old central defender arrives in Venlo having made just seven appearances for Utrecht this term.
VVV will hope the new signings provide a much-needed boost as they battle relegation in the second half of the season, with the club currently sitting second-bottom of the table.
