Sanchez delighted with new signing's contribution against Vale

Barnet have signed Ben May on loan from Stevenage until the end of the season and the striker made an immediate impact on his debut against Port Vale. May has made 10 appearances for Stevenage this term, but the recent loan signings of Jordan Slew and Patrick Agyemang have reduced his opportunities with the League One club. The former Millwall forward was allowed to link up with Barnet and he was thrown straight into the starting line-up for Saturday's game at Vale Park. The 28-year-old scored the Bees' equaliser before Andrew Yiadom struck a late winner and manager Lawrie Sanchez was delighted with his new signing's contribution. Sanchez said: "I thought Ben May had as good a debut as you could wish to see. "We've been looking for a big centre-forward for a long time. They are difficult to find because they are a dying breed, but Ben fitted the bill and he was great. "I've got to thank our chairman for working all night to get the deal done and I'm sure it was a surprise for Port Vale to see his name on our team sheet."
