Lyon midfielder's agent says Serie A outfit have stepped up interest

The agent of Brazilian midfielder Ederson claims Lazio have stepped up their interest in his client, with no contract extension having been agreed with Lyon. Reports in France suggest a new four-year deal has been agreed between the 26-year-old and his current employers. Ederson's representative insists that is not the case, with a summer switch still a possibility. He says interest from Italy is steadily mounting and a decision regarding his client's future will be made over the coming weeks.

Possibilities

"There is nothing concrete right now, but Lazio are among several interested parties," Caliendo told calciomercato.it. "Lazio have been monitoring Ederson for around five years, but now they've made a clear step towards him. "We'll evaluate all of the possibilities that we are presented with - Inter and Juventus have monitored him in the past, but, right now, there is nothing definite with any team." Ederson has made over 100 appearances for Lyon during his four years with the club, but has figured only 20 times this season and has regularly expressed his frustration at being overlooked.
