Michael Jacobs has revealed he turned down offers from Charlton and Peterborough to join Derby County.
The 20-year-old was out of contract at League Two side Northampton Town and was being tracked by a number of other clubs.
But Jacobs says the state-of-the-art training facilities at Derby made up his mind to reject all other offers in favour of the East Midlands club.
"This is a fantastic move for me and I'm delighted to get it done," he told the
Derby Evening Telegraph.
"I had offers from Charlton and Peterborough as well but as soon as I came to have a look around the facilities at Derby, I knew this was the place for me.
"You only need to look at the set-up. The facilities are Premier League standard and I liked what the manager had to say."
