Burkina Faso international Alain Traore has left Auxerre to join fellow French side Lorient on a four-year deal.
Traore, 24, had a trial at Manchester United earlier in his career but the move was reported to have failed due to permit issues.
Midfielder Traore had been at Auxerre for seven years, scoring 14 goals in 56 appearances.
His nine goals in Ligue 1 last season were not enough to prevent Auxerre dropping into the second tier of French football.
