Scunthorpe swoop for Winnall

League Two side Scunthorpe have completed their 10th summer signing with the arrival of former Wolves striker Sam Winnall.

The 23-year-old, recently released by the League One newcomers, has put pen to paper on a one-year deal after scoring three goals in four appearances for the Iron during a trial spell. Winnall signed his first professional contract at Molineux in 2009, but made just one first-team appearance, in a League Cup tie against Southend in 2010. He has had previous loan spells at Burton, Hereford, Inverness and Shrewsbury and follows fellow summer recruits Andy Dawson, Chris Iwelumo, Terry Hawkridge, Luke Waterfall, Andy Welsh, Matt Sparrow, Etienne Esajas, Sean McAllister and Deon Burton into Glanford Park.
