Gervinho is convinced he made the right decision in swapping life at Arsenal for that at Roma over the summer.

With Arsene Wenger unable to guarantee the Ivorian regular first-team football, he took the decision to make a fresh start in Italy.

Arsenal have flourished in his absence, taking to the top of the Premier League table, but Gervinho has enjoyed success of his own in Serie A.

Roma have taken maximum points from their opening six fixtures in the league, with Gervinho weighing in with three goals.

The 26-year-old admits he is enjoying his football again after a tough two years in England and hopes he will end his debut season in the Italian capital with silverware to show for his efforts.

Gervinho told Corriere dello Sport: "I don't know if my transfer was Arsenal's gain. All I know is that in Roma I have found exactly what I was looking for - a chance to play more, under a great coach who has faith in me, at a great club with big ambition.

"I never imagined that I would get to work with (Francesco) Totti. It is a pleasure but also a nice burden because with Francesco you must always be alert because he can hand you a decisive pass at any time.

"At Roma I am happy and enjoying myself. Our goal is to qualify for Europe, but the Scudetto is not impossible. The team is good, the environment is positive and determined. There is confidence we can get to the top."
