League Two preview

Brentford look to stretch their lead at the top while two playoff hopefuls go head to head.

Bees hope to stretch lead at top while play-off hopefuls battle it out

Brentford look to stretch their lead at the top while two of the play-off hopefuls in Rochdale and Bradford go head to head in Tuesday night's League Two action. At the bottom Bournemouth and Chester will be hoping to take advantage of the fact that fellow strugglers Grimsby do not play until Wednesday. League leaders Brentford host improved Barnet on Tuesday as they look to extend their seven game unbeaten run. The visitors are on a run of their own having gone four games without defeat. Second placed Wycombe will be looking to close the four-point gap on the Bees when they travel to midtable Lincoln. Bury will be looking to edge closer to the top two with a win away at one of the division's form sides Morecambe, who are unbeaten in nine league games. Arguably the biggest game of the day pits Rochdale and Bradford together at Spotland with both sides level on points. However, while Dale have lost their last two matches, the Bantams will be looking to make it three wins in a row with both teams just one point off the automatic promotion places. Sixth placed Exeter find themselves on the same amount of points as Rochdale and Bradford and they welcome second bottom Bournemouth who are one point from safety. Gillingham currently lie in the final play-off place and know a win over cash strapped Darlington could take them into the top three. Out of form Aldershot, with one win in 12, face a Shrewsbury side who are just a point off the top seven. Rock bottom Luton appear to be doomed but they could fancy their chances away at Notts County who have lost their last two. The Hatters find themselves 16 points from safety. Chester are another team who finds themselves slipping towards the wrong end of the table with two points separating them from the drop zone. They face a difficult obstacle at home in the shape of 18th placed Rotherham who are unbeaten in five, winning three. Macclesfield have turned around their recent poor form with two wins from their last three games and they will be looking to heap more misery on Accrington at Moss Rose. Dagenham and Redbridge travel to midtable Port Vale with faint hopes of the play-offs, with eight points separating them from a place in the top seven.
