Evans relishes Posh challenge

Rotherham boss Steve Evans believes if his side can beat Peterborough then their start to the season will become "fantastic".

The Millers are currently unbeaten in Sky Bet League One this season, though they have drawn four of them - a start Evans has described as steady. They welcome high-flying Posh to New York at the weekend and Evans knows what a win would mean. "We are on top of the world, but we have said for a long time that we never try have Monday to Friday too high or low, we like to keep it on a level," he said, referring to the mood of his squad. "I have called it a steady start and if we win on Saturday it will be a brilliant start because if we have played nine games and we are averaging above two points a game then that's fantastic. If we don't win it remains a steady start. "But we are playing the champions-elect and this is a real benchmark for us. "They have got stronger with the signing of Assombalonga, who I think is better than Dwight Gayle, they have a manager who has run the course a couple of times and a chairman who has backed them. "I have seen nothing to change my mind that they will be champions." With both sides renowned for their attacking flair, Evans thinks it will be goals galore in South Yorkshire. "Given how they play and we play it will be seven each or we might win 8-7!" he added. "It will be a fantastic game to watch, but we have to be guarded. They are the best counter-attacking team I have seen in League One."
