Ainsworth delighted with win

Image: Gareth Ainsworth: Happy with JPT win

Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth was delighted with his side as they fought their way to a 2-0 Johnstone's Paint Trophy win at Exeter.

The Chairboys were good value for their win and deservedly went in front when Matt McClure benefitted from Tommy Doherty's mistake to coolly slot the ball under Artur Krysiak. And Antony Stewart sealed the win with a thumping header eight minutes from time. "I thought we applied ourselves really well , the JPT can play second fiddle to the league, but winning breeds winning," Ainsworth said. "We came here to win the game and I think we showed that from the off and every player showed that. "It was a good tactical game in the second half and we had to change a few times but it's great when that comes off. "We are a pressing, energetic team and we reflect the manager. Anyone that saw me play will know that's how I did it, it's all or nothing. But when we get the ball, we have a bit of quality as well. "We always do things a bit differently when we come down here because it's such a long way, so we had a quiz on the team coach to keep the brains alive and get ready for the game. "It's all part of the team spirit for this 'One Wycombe' we are trying to create."
