Bloomfield boost for Ainsworth

Matt Bloomfield's return from an injury nightmare can only be positive for Wycombe, according to manager Gareth Ainsworth.

Substitute appearances against Southend and Exeter in the last few weeks were the 29-year-old's first in Wanderers colours since sustaining a pelvis injury back in August 2012. And Ainsworth was delighted to see the former Ipswich man back on a football pitch again. "I know about Bloomsy's nightmare, I had exactly the same thing when I was at Wimbledon and I was out for a year," he said. "When you do come back and you do have those minutes it is really important to take them. Match fitness is something totally different to fitness and until you are a professional footballer you'll never understand that. "Blooms playing again is great for Wycombe. He has 300 games for us and knows how we play, he was my room-mate when I first came here - he knows what I want and how I am. "He's back around the squad now and that can only be a good thing for Wycombe Wanderers."
