Ainsworth rues slow start

Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth had no complaints over his side's 3-2 loss at Rochdale and put defeat down to a dreadful start.

Dale were untouchable in the opening 15 minutes as they raced into a three-goal lead courtesy of Scott Hogan, Joe Bunney and Michael Rose. Matt McClure and Jo Kuffour responded to set up a tense finish at Spotland, but the Chairboys couldn't quite complete the comeback. "The start was terrible and I have told them I never want to see another 15 minutes like that as long as I am in charge," said Ainsworth. "We were all over the place until we sorted it with a holding midfielder and then we pushed on and almost got back into it. "We didn't deserve anything after the first 15 minutes. We did show great spirit to come back, but I cannot take that first 15 minutes again. I will seriously have to take stock as that hurt. "Keith Hill and his team deserved the win but I can be proud of the way we came back and we could have nicked it at the end. Whether we deserved it is debatable."
