Juventus edge Torino as Milan held at home

Juventus secured a last-gasp victory over Torino to climb second, while Milan's lacklustre start to the Serie A season continued with a 1-1 draw at home to Catania and Atalanta lost their unbeaten record. Juventus endured a frustrating evening as they struggled to break down the resistance of city rivals Torino. But four minutes into stoppage time David Trezeguet popped up to seal the points for Juve. Carlo Ancelotti's Milan have now won just one of their opening six league games after a hard-fought tussle at the San Siro. Catania took the lead on 25 minutes through Jorge Martinez, but Kaka's penalty three minutes into the second half spared Milan's blushes. Atalanta's unbeaten start to the campaign came to a halt after a 3-0 defeat at Sampdoria. Claudio Bellucci scored after just four minutes before half-time substitute Paolo Sammarco scored a second goal on 57 minutes. Antonio Cassano, who replaced Bellucci earlier in the second period, completed the scoring with Samp's third goal on 82 minutes. Empoli recorded a first Serie A win of the season with a 3-1 home success over 10-man Palermo. Edinson Cavani put Palermo ahead before half-time, but Nicola Pozzi levelled for Empoli two minutes after the interval. The visitors had Fabio Caserta dismissed for a second yellow card 15 minutes from time and Empoli took full advantage. Substitute Sebastian Giovinco scored on 82 minutes and Ighli Vanucchi's injury-time penalty sealed the points. Reggina, who had Francesco Modesto sent off in injury-time, await their first win of the campaign after a 1-1 draw at home to Lazio. Francesco Cozza's goal had Reggina in front for the best part of an hour before Lazio equalised through Aleksandar Kolarov. Siena are another team without a win after Pasquale Foggia's seventh-minute penalty secured Cagliari a 1-0 home triumph. Genoa won the battle of the two promoted sides with a last-gasp 2-1 victory at Napoli. Paolo Cannavaro's own goal gifted Genoa the lead on 11 minutes before Maurizio Domizzi levelled with a penalty on 51 minutes. But Genoa stole the three points courtesy of substitute Giuseppe Sculli a minute from time. Cristian Zapata's goal three minutes into stoppage time secured Udinese a 2-1 win at home to Parma. Bernardo Corradi had earlier put Parma ahead on 72 minutes before substitute Fabio Quagliarella equalised on 79 minutes.
