Leaders PSV Eindhoven and third placed Ajax both enjoyed routs on home soil, while Steve McClaren's Twente remain in second after they battled to a three-point haul of their own.
PSV made light work of
RKC Waalwijk as the Philips Stadion faithful were treated to a 5-1 win that keeps them ahead of Twente by three points.
A sixth minute penalty from Balazs Dzsudzsak got PSV on their way as they found themselves four-goals up at the break thanks to further efforts from Ibrahim Afellay, Danny Koevermans and Nordin Amrabat.
Charlison Benschop grabbed RKC a consolation after the interval before Koevermans had the final say with his second of the afternoon.
Twente were made to work considerably harder for their win as Bryan Ruiz struck with five minutes to go secure a 2-1 victory over
NEC Nijmegen.

With a stalemate looming it was left for Ruiz to emerge as the hero as he struck late on to give Twente the points.

Goals from Andre Bahia and Diego Bieswar had put Feyenoord in complete control but late efforts from Matavz (83) and Andreas Granqvist (88) appeared to have won Groningen a point.
It was, though, Ron Vlaar that got the game's winner as his last-gasp goal secured Feyenoord the spoils.
