Levein looking forward to game as part of World Cup preparations

Scotland have confirmed a friendly away to Slovenia in February as part of Craig Levein's preparations for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers. The Scots missed out on a place at Euro 2012 and the trip to Slovenia on Wednesday 29th February is scheduled to be the second of four warm-up games for the upcoming quest to reach the World Cup in Brazil. Levein's men won 2-1 in Cyprus a week ago and the Scotland coach is keen to build on the momentum in the hope of making the finals. "I'm really pleased to accept the invitation to travel to Slovenia," said Levein.

Momentum

"The players are all looking forward to another opportunity to continue building momentum as a group. "After a positive week, and result, in Cyprus recently, this match is another crucial step in our preparations for the World Cup qualifiers. "Slovenia will provide a tough test at the right time for us." Scotland have been drawn in Group A for the World Cup qualifiers and will face Croatia, Serbia, Belgium, Macedonia and Wales.
