Brest have sacked coach Landry Chauvin after the club slipped into the Ligue 1 relegation places.

Brest's home form has been particularly poor, with no wins and only three draws from their last nine games, and Guyot admitted that played a key role in forcing his hand. Guyot told the club website: "It was a difficult decision to take. We always want to build for the long term but unfortunately the weight of sporting results affects any goodwill. "We have not won at home since November 17 and are currently in the relegation zone. "Obviously the responsibility for this difficult season does not rest solely on the shoulders of Landry Chauvin but there are no other options available with eight games remaining. "I explained myself to Landry and saluted his professionalism and the work he did for us, but he has not lived up to our shared high hopes."
