Torres replacement scores twice before Silva guarantees win
Spain eventually ground down Lithuania to move to the top of Euro 2012 qualifying Group I with a 3-1 win.
Fernando Llorente powered home two headers to set the world and European champions on their way on Friday.
The home side dominated against an ultra-defensive Lithuania, but could not find a goal until two minutes after the break when Llorente, playing in place of the injured Fernando Torres, nodded in a Sergio Ramos cross.
Lithuania hit back through Darvydas Sernas before Santi Cazorla provided the cross for Llorente to put Spain back in front.
The lively David Silva made it 3-1 in the 79th minute with another header, sending a Ramos centre whistling into the top corner from the middle of the penalty area.
Elsewhere in Group I, Scotland lost 1-0 to Czech Republic in Prague as Roman Hubnik scored the only goal of the game.
