Groningen impress with 3-0 victory
Groningen condemned Willem II to their fourth successive defeat of the Eredivisie campaign with a 3-0 triumph on Friday.
Visiting Groningen, unbeaten in the league so far this season, built on their 2-1 win over De Graafschap last weekend as they denied the hapless home side a reply.
Tom Hiariej drew first blood for the visitors in the 36th minute when he fired the opening goal past home keeper Niki Maenpaar.
Groningen then added insurance to their win after the break when Thomas Enevoldsen and Nicklas Pedersen found the back of the net within three minutes of each other.
Enevoldsen made it 2-0 on 63 minutes before Pedersen completed the victory soon after, leaving Willem in the basement of the league table.
