Toulouse were left still searching for their first win of the season after throwing away a one-goal lead to draw 1-1 with Marseille.

Toulouse were left still searching for their first win of the season after throwing away a one-goal lead to draw with Marseille at the Stade Municipal. After falling behind to a Wissam Ben Yedder goal just after the hour mark, Marseille hit back late on through Lucas Mendes to leave Toulouse without a home win over their Ligue 1 rivals since 2007. After suffering their first league defeat of the season last week at home to rivals Monaco, Elie Baup's men will be thankful to avoid defeat and get their title challenge back on track. The hosts almost made a perfect start inside the opening 10 minutes when Martin Braithwaite pounced after Steve Mandanda failed to hold a Clement Chantome delivery but the Dane's effort was miraculously cleared off the line by Jeremy Morel. Alain Casanova's men continued to press and Mandanda was called upon again when Wissam Ben Yedder found Pavel Ninkov but, after beating Morel, his effort was kept out by the France goalkeeper. As the one-way traffic continued, Ninkov and Mandanda had another duel but this time the Serbian's stinging half-volley was kept out superbly after looking seemingly destined for the top corner. Marseille finally sprung into action with 10 minutes remaining but Mathieu Valbuena was guilty of missing a glorious chance after he hesitated, when faced only with Ali Ahamada, before stumbling. Ahamada was properly tested when Andre-Pierre Gignac nodded Rod Fanni's delivery into the path of Valbuena but his volley from the edge of the area was kept out by the Toulouse stopper. Gignac wasted another chance on the stroke of half-time, firing over when faced only with Ahamada, and both sides went into the break level. Debutant Florian Thauvin was substituted early in the second half after failing to impress on his debut for the visitors and shortly after OM found themselves a goal behind. Braithwaite was released in behind the defence by Oscar Trejo and, when faced only with Mandanda, the Dane unselfishly rolled the ball into the path of Ben Yedder who was left with a simple finish. Toulouse's Serge Aurier twice went close with efforts from outside the area as the hosts tried to close the game out but Casnova's men were hit with a sucker-punch with just four minutes left to play. Valbuena swung a dangerous free-kick into the area and, after escaping his marker Uros Spajic, Lucas Mendes headed the ball beyond Ahamada to claim a lucky point for the visitors.
